NEW Light-Emitting Diodesfor 1.9 to 7 mmOur IR LEDs are made in St. Petersburg Russia by a department of the Ioffe Institute called the Mid-IR Diode Optopair Group (MIRDOG). Devices are available with center wavelengths of 1.9, 2.1, 3.0, 3.4, 3.6, 3.8, 4.2, 4.7, 5.5 and 7 microns. Typical emission bandwidth is 0.5 mm and power levels at 10's to 1000's of microwatts depending on wavelength, duty cycle etc. The devices we NOW offer are superior to the prior ones for the follow reasons:

Additionally, we expect to have a VERY INTERESTING, LOWER COST line of similar devices soon from the same Russian manufacturer. The new devices are optically pumped mid-IR phosphors based on new engineered materials. The pump source is an inexpensive and robust GaAs 0.8 mm LED. Click here for an example at 3.9 microns.
